Privacy Policy
Effective Date: February 7, 2026
Andrew Jazbec (“Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) built the Word Ladder app (“App”) as a commercial application. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Word Ladder does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
The App does collect limited non-personal information automatically through third-party services to support core functionality and improve the experience:
Device and Usage Data
We collect basic device metadata such as device model, operating system version, language, locale, and app version. This data is used for analytics, troubleshooting, and to evaluate feature performance.
Purchase Data
If you purchase a subscription, Apple processes your payment directly. We receive purchase receipt data (such as subscription status, product identifier, and transaction timestamps) through our subscription management provider to verify your entitlement and manage your subscription. We do not receive or store your payment method, credit card number, or Apple ID password.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each of which may collect data on our behalf:
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat processes Apple purchase receipts to validate and track subscription status. RevenueCat does not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA) by default and acts as a data processor on our behalf. You can review RevenueCat’s privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/.
Statsig
We use Statsig for analytics and feature experimentation. Statsig collects device metadata (device model, OS version, app version, language, and locale) and generates a random, anonymous identifier (StableID) that is stored locally on your device. This identifier cannot be used to identify you across other apps or websites. Statsig does not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA). You can review Statsig’s privacy policy at https://statsig.com/privacy.
How We Use Your Information
The information collected through the App is used to:
- Verify and manage your subscription status
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
- Evaluate the performance of new features through A/B testing
- Diagnose technical issues and crashes
We do not use collected data for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or share your information with data brokers or advertising networks.
Tracking and Advertising
Word Ladder does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not collect Apple’s Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), and we do not display third-party advertisements. Because we do not engage in tracking as defined by Apple, the App does not present an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
Data Retention
We retain non-personal analytics data only for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Subscription-related data is retained for as long as needed to manage your subscription and comply with applicable legal and financial obligations.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information collected through the App. All data transmitted between the App and our third-party service providers is encrypted in transit. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
Word Ladder does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of analytics data collection
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information or require accounts, most data we process cannot be linked to you individually. If you have questions about your data or wish to make a request, please contact us using the information below.
California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have additional rights regarding their personal information. We do not sell personal information. To the extent that any information we process constitutes “personal information” under the CCPA, you may request disclosure of the categories of information collected or request its deletion by contacting us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and on our App Store listing. The “Effective Date” at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
